The Plaza Mayor is the starting point for this section that departs from Zamora and goes back to Castilian landscapes from the streets Costanilla and Feria to the street Puebla de Sanabria. Please pay attention to the signs for the Camino and continue towards La Hiniesta, across the autovía A-11 to reach Roales del Pan, after almost 7 kilometres.
READ MOREThe church of Roales is dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, it was rebuilt at the beginning of the 1970s and only the original south front remains. From the Plaza Mayor, you go back to an agricultural track parallel to the main road.
The next village is Montamarta, the end of the day for most, as it offers hostels and services for pilgrims. There is a Renaissance church, that of San Miguel Arcángel, and the façade of the Monastery of Los Jerónimos. Once you leave, you will see the chapel of Santa María del Castillo on a hilltop, with a statue of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the village.

What to see and do in Montamarta?
“If you happen to visit us on the 1st and 6th of January, Montamarta has one of the most typical winter masquerades in the province of Zamora called “el Zagarrón”, an ancestral rite still being practised and really worth seeing”.
