The Way with Correos
The Camino de Santiago will be one of this year’s main features at B-Travel, the most important tourism trade show, which kicks off tomorrow in Barcelona. We will be there as part of the El Camino con Correos team to highlight some of the services we provide for pilgrims, and to answer any questions for all those who are thinking of embarking on the Camino de Santiago.
Each visitor to the Correos stand from tomorrow until Sunday (April 20-22) will be entered into the draw to win up to 100 prizes by completing the B-Travel Passport. You can also get an El Camino con Correos Paq or capture special moments with the Mi Postal app. If you happen to be in Barcelona and are thinking of doing the Camino de Santiago, then drop in to B-Travel. Here we shall guide you through what you can do during your visit, including organising your Camino de Santiago.
From this Friday the 20th of April until Sunday April 22nd, the Fira de Barcelona will showcase some of the best travel experiences from all over the world. One of them is the Camino de Santiago. At El Camino con Correos, we want to help spread the word about this age-old route, providing the best tips for planning your Camino, as well offering our services that let you enjoy a stress free trail.
Enjoy a baggage free Camino
Everyone who visits the El Camino con Correos stand can learn more about the Paq Mochila (the daily luggage transfer service between lodgings), the Paq Bicicleta (to send your bike to the start of the route or back again once you have arrived at Santiago de Compostela), the Paq Peregrino (for sending luggage, packages or any purchases you make to any branch on the route), or our consignment service in Santiago, allowing you to safely leave your things while you enter the cathedral or continue on to enjoy the city.
Above all B-Travel is fun. We recommend that you take part in the B-Travel Passport gymkhana, which as well as being enjoyable is also a chance to win up to 100 prizes from the draw. Flights to San Francisco, Stockholm or Moscow, train tickets, overnight and weekend hotel stays could all be yours.
It's very straightforward: just get your B-Travel passport, visit our stand and any others included in it then simply join in the activities on offer at each one. If you complete them correctly, we’ll give you a stamp. When you have collected them all, pull out the stamped page and pop it into the box at the exit. There's more than €20,000 worth of prizes waiting for you!
Get an el Camino pack
At the El Camino con Correos stand you can also enter the draw for a Camino de Santiago pack, full of useful things for your route. Our Camino Paq is made up of a booklet for collecting stamps, with a cover to keep it in good condition, a backpack, a hand towel, a sun hat, a notebook and pen to record your adventure, a calendar with images that celebrate the values of the Camino and a pen drive. To take part you simply have to fill in your details on the coupon that can be found at the stand then wait to find out if you're the winner. The draw will take place on the last day of B-Travel at 1.30pm.
Send a real life postcard
The most enjoyable part of the El Camino con Correos stand at B-Travel is no doubt down to Mi postal. Thanks to this app you can instantly transform yourself into a pilgrim and send the image as a real life postcard to whoever you wish. Use our fun sessions to create a photo, then edit and personalise it with emojis, stickers, frames or funny messages, adding live shots or videos from your gallery to create a magical moment. All that's left then is to choose who to send this unique postcard to.
The B-Travel stage will also play host to all sorts of fun activities for you to enjoy, such as musical performances, traditional dances and contests. Cinema lovers will also have their own space with daily showings of travel related audiovisuals for those dreaming of their ideal destination, as well being able to enjoy the ‘De viaje por cine’ (Travel through cinema) exhibition on film destinations. Lastly, B-Travel will also have a place for reflection thanks to the exhibition 'Nos gustaría volver’ (We would like to return), organised by Viajes Tuareg. This exhibition collects images and accounts from Mali, Syria, Yemen and Libya, countries from which refugees have fled but which were up until recently also holiday destinations.
